The Yangambi Biosphere is a research site under the supervision of the Ministries of Scientific Research, that of Higher and University Education as well as the Ministry of Agriculture. Thus, Minister José Mpanda welcomed the holding of scientists in Yangambi. An action which, according to him, puts this site back at the heart of the system of scientific interest in the world and which enhances it even more.
For Eve Bazaiba Masudi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, this session, which is taking place in Yangambi by including scientists from all over the world in the reflections on the future of the planet's tropical basins, allows " DRC to send a clear message that the country is entering a new era of protection and conservation of its forest resources for the needs of the fight against climate change, in a win-win partnership approach with all those who are concerned about saving the planet"
Representing the Head of State, Prime Minister Jean Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge said he was honored by the presence of scientists in a place of renowned scientific research. The head of the national executive returned to the urgency of considering the true value of the country's environmental services in favor of humanity and therefore that the country, which has become the world's first lung, can benefit from fair compensation.
The DRC in partnership with the Arab Republic of Egypt are organizing the preparatory work for COP27 preceded by this meeting of Scientists in Yangambi.
