Ministerial Meeting

The preparatory work for the 27th session of the Conference of Parties on Climate Change, PreCop 27, will be held in Kinshasa from October 3 to 5, 2022 at the Palais du Peuple.

This last official ministerial meeting before COP 27, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheyk in November 2022, is organized by the Democratic Republic of Congo, in partnership with the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Ministers of the environment and/or energy and their delegation from around 60 countries will participate, as well as the representative of the UNFCCC Secretariat, representatives of the UNFCCC Secretariat, the chairs of the subsidiary bodies of the Convention and a number of civil society stakeholders who play a key role in the fight against climate change or in the transition towards sustainable development.

This ministerial meeting is an opportunity to exchange views on certain political aspects of the negotiations and to deepen some of the main negotiating topics for COP27.
