Kinshasa: Félix Tshisekedi and a United Nations delegation discuss the COP26 implementation plan

On the occasion of the opening of the preparatory works of the cop27 which took place at the people's palace, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, received in audience, Monday, October 03, a United Nations delegation to the African Union city in Kinshasa-Ngaliema.

According to the communication unit of the Congolese presidency, it was a question for this delegation to present to the first Congolese citizen the report on the execution of the commitments of the Cop26.

These commitments, continues the same source, crystallize around the mitigation of global warming, the adaptation to climate impacts, the financing of damages.

"The objective is to enforce these commitments at COP27 in Egypt", reports the communication from the presidency.

It should be noted that the delegation was led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Eve Bazaiba. Members of the latter were Amina Mohamed, UN Deputy SG, and Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The work of the Pre-cop27 extends from October 03 to 05 at the People's Palace in Kinshasa. As for the Cop27, it will be held in November 2022 in Egypt.
